Geffery’s Fields is a beautiful almshouse in Basingstoke, and operates as a sheltered housing scheme owned by the Sir Robert Geffery’s Almshouse Trust and supported by the Ironmongers’ Company.
Our Story
Geffery's Fields was founded under the will of Sir Robert Geffery in 1704 who left money to the Ironmongers’ Company to build almshouses for persons of limited means and of good character.
Meet The Team
Geffery's Fields employs a local team to keep the facilities looking fantastic in addition to a charitable committee made up of relevantly-skilled volunteers.
Jackie Lovell
Warden
Jackie lives on site and has 24 years of experience managing sheltered housing. She is responsible for day-to-day smooth running of the building and keeping residents safe and happy. Residents say she always has a cheery hello and time for everyone. Jackie loves her job and being able to help the residents. No two days are alike.
Paula Renouf
Charities Manager
Paula visits regularly and has overall responsibility for the upkeep of the building plus the safeguarding and well-being of the residents. She also co-ordinates with the Charitable Committee that has oversight of the Almshouse.
